On 31 July 2001, the UK government published a White Paper, Insolvency - A Second Chance. This heralded the introduction of an Enterprise Bill, which was to amend the Insolvency Act 1986 and so modernise the law of personal and corporate insolvency. The Bill could receive Royal Assent by November, so may come into effect very soon.
