Thanks to its speed and ease of use, e-mail is fast becoming a ubiquitous means of communication in business. According to research firm IDC, the number of electronic mailboxes is expected to rise from 315 million in 1999 to 530 million in 2002, while the number of e-mails sent on a business day will almost triple from 5.3 billion to 14.7 billion.
