Japanese ways of working have had a huge influence on the automotive industry in the UK, but their effect may be in decline. Des Doran looks at what the future may hold for vehicle manufacturers
Japanese car makers such as Nissan, Toyota and Honda have been opertaing in the UK for many years and the general view is that their influence has been good. Efficient, non-hierarchical, insistent on high quality, the oriental effect has spread throughout British industry and helped gee up what was once the sick man of Europe.
