The cost of electricity is at a historic low. But fears are growing that prices will climb in 2004, says David Arminas

Electricity buyers have never had it so good and 2003 looks set to be another year of incredibly low prices. The main reason for the upbeat analysis is the government’s New Electricity Trading Arrangements (Neta), introduced in April 2001. Electricity is now traded on an open market where supply and demand determines the price.
