You don’t have to spend much time in Jeff Gaskell’s company before you encounter his dry wit. A jovial Lancastrian who became CIPS president this week, Gaskell sees humour in all but the gravest of situations, taking his cue from the likes of Mel Brooks and Spike Milligan. “I have a great sense of the absurd,” he says. “I find it hard to take things seriously.”
