The failure of nearly half of all local councils in England to put e-procurement in place means savings that could go into services are tied up in processes, says Colin Whitehouse

There is considerable pressure on local authorities to meet targets for delivering their services online this year – not least to ensure they have e-procurement in place. So far, just over half of local authorities across the country have agreed e-procurement strategies, which means many councils still have a lot to do.
