The case study in purchasing and supply has had a poor overall pass mark for the past two years. Cedric Spiller explains some of the common mistakes students can avoid in next month’s exam

In May 2002, the overall pass mark for the case study in purchasing and supply paper was 47 per cent. In May of this year, that figure was 48 per cent. Clearly, many students have difficulties in passing this exam. The content of the May 2003 paper - about CDs - was believed to be fair and topical as most students have CDs and listen to music.
