From the courts’ standpoint, temps or seasonal employees are exactly the same as permanent workers. Nichola Upperton-Evans explains why employers should be careful.
In the UK, the rules concerning seasonal or temporary workers apply to everyone, irrespective of the sector or trade. Every industry is bound by the same rules and the argument ‘it’s normal practice in our sector’ does not enter the legal equation.
