White takes charge of supplies for NHS trust

Tony White has been appointed head of supplies at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he will control a budget of more than £138 million.

White leads a department of 55 people on two sites and be responsible for purchasing everything from rubber gloves to high-tech medical scanning equipment.

White was previously head of supply chain at the NHS Logistics Authority for three and a half years.
