Wales saves £5.4m in first national online deal

Public-sector bodies in Wales have saved £5.4 million by joining forces for the first nationwide e-auction.

The £4.1 million deal secured contracts for stationery and other office goods and was brokered on behalf of all the country’s 104 public-sector organisations.

The Welsh Procurement Initiative (WPI) carried out the auction at Cardiff University, saving 57 per cent of the expected spend.
