Utilities firms team up for e-auction_2

Two utilities companies have held one of the industry's largest e-auctions for the renewal of vehicles contracts.

United Utilities and Scottish Power jointly awarded the £150 million contract for the sourcing of cars, light commercial vehicles and trucks to Vauxhall and DaimlerChrysler.

The auction, in which 14 companies bid, was the first to demonstrate new functionality of the Eutilia e-marketplace, following its purchase of technology from Dutch company Econia.
