TI claims tag reader can meet changing standards

Texas Instruments has launched a new radio frequency identification (RFID) tag reader designed to keep track of the technology as industry standards change.

The S4100 Multi-Function Reader Module (MFR) is compliant with devices on the 13.56 MHz frequencies currently used in supply chain, retail, payment and access control applications. It can also be tailored so that older tags can be used, reducing the investment required to upgrade RFID infrastructures.
