Tech-reliant firms urged to act faster in emergencies

IT services company EDS has published a list of "must-dos" to ensure computer-reliant businesses do not collapse following an unexpected disaster.

Its eight-point plan is designed to give companies a better chance of operating effectively during blackouts, "denial of service" attacks and viruses.

EDS said most companies didn't introduce contingency plans until it was too late, with nine out of 10 businesses suffering major disruption.
