iPOS, developed by Australian software firm Professional Advantage, includes exception-alert capabilities for notification of any maverick buying, authorised supplier lists, as well as budget checking.

Access levels for information are determined and maintained by the organisation itself.

Nigel Rayner, product marketing director at SunSystems, said iPOS can track simple, one-off purchases through to the most complex, recurring orders and goods-received methodologies: “Information is up-to-date, allowing better understanding of spending patterns.”

iPOS reduces the need for time-consuming interaction and functions such as automatic loading of data and matching of invoices, allowing procurement staff to concentrate on more strategic matters, he added.
