Skills gap hinders e-procurement

A lack of skilled buyers is the largest barrier to the greater adoption of e-procurement, according to purchasing managers.

A survey of 105 public and private-sector organisations by software company Oracle and the Bristol Business School found 70 per cent of respondents said they did not have enough skilled purchasers to cope with the increased workload generated by e-procurement.
