Rowan takes top purchasing job at research council

Ewan Rowan has been named head of procurement at the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC), one of the seven government research councils.

He was most recently UK sourcing leader for direct and indirect goods and services at GE Fleet Services, a fleet rental and finance company.

PPARC runs three sites, including the UK Astronomy Technology Centre, which incorporates the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh where Rowan is based. Its overall procurement budget is around £270 million.
