Automotive giant BMW is setting up a group purchasing department to take control of its £14 billion annual material spend. The department will oversee the £4 billion that its UK subsidiary Rover spends each year, and will lead efforts for the two companie
The announcement, which was made to the Rover workforce before Christmas, will see a powerful group of 10 top-level purchasing directors co-ordinating all expenditure from Munich.
