Public sector urged to boost auction use

The public sector is not benefiting from online auctions and Whitehall could save millions of pounds a year if it adopted them, according to the chief executive of TradingPartners.

Chirag Shah told SM the potential savings were vast and would benefit central government departments and society.

“The public sector does not negotiate in the same way as the private sector, and it is therefore easy to see why you get inflated prices,” he said.
