Procurement set to slash £300m in NI government

Procurement in Northern Ireland government departments could cut costs by more than £300 million over the next three years.

The reductions are part of the province’s target to introduce efficiency savings of more than £1 billion by 2008.

The Northern Ireland government’s departments revealed their plans last week in response to targets set by Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Ian Pearson.
