Poor planning leaving UK charities vulnerable

UK charities are failing to plan effectively for technical, natural or financial disasters, according to a survey by business advisers PKF.

Although 94 per cent of the charities surveyed claimed to have a risk management policy, only 14 per cent of small charities and 35 per cent of the UK’s larger charities have a fraud response plan in place.

Furthermore, of the 333 charities surveyed less than half (43 per cent) of smaller charities had a business continuity plan.
