Nearly two-thirds of industrial associations within the intensive energy sector have agreed formal targets for cutting carbon emissions before the controversial climate change levy takes effect on 1 April, according to the Department of the Environment, T

“We have signed agreements with 15 trade associations on behalf of individual companies and are in discussion with a further 10 energy-intensive sectors and other smaller energy users,” said a spokeswoman.
