E-mail misuse more widespread than Internet abuse

Employers in the UK are more likely to discipline staff for excessive or inappropriate use of e-mail than the Internet, according to a survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Of the 356 employers surveyed, almost half said they had disciplined their staff for excessive use of e-mail, compared to 13 per cent for overuse of the Internet.
