Companies could be in trouble if they extend holiday rights to one faith over another

This month saw the first anniversary of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003. These provide that it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate on the grounds of religion, either directly by treating a worker less favourably than others, or indirectly, for example through work practices, unless it can be objectively justified.
