The Electronic Revenue will start to make online filing of PAYE returns mandatory from 2005. A tough scheme – but a great time to invest in the payroll function.

Probably the biggest change to PAYE since its inception in 1948 is underway for employers. From May 2005, all employers with 250 employees or more will be required to file their year-end returns electronically.
