Amec gains from local suppliers

International engineering firm Amec says that using Iraqi labour and suppliers to rebuild the war-torn state will reduce the likelihood of attacks on facilities.

The UK-based company has won major contracts to rebuild power and water supplies in Iraq worth $780 million and will hear whether it has won a further tender to repair the justice infrastructure early this month.
