Councils aiming to save billions in marketplace_3

A major online marketplace for local authorities will be piloted this autumn in an attempt to save up to 70 per cent of their £27.5 billion annual spend on goods and services.

More than 100 of the 408 councils in England and Wales are interested in the marketplace, according to the local government Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA), which will invest £15 million.
