Public sector to talk the same online language

Plans for the whole UK public sector to use the same computer language for online purchasing have been welcomed by a government-backed e-procurement advisory network.

The Office of Government Commerce and the Office of the e-Envoy said the best choice would be BASDA eBis XML, produced by a non-profit organisation, which would enable suppliers to trade electronically with the public sector at minimal cost.
