Foreign hauliers gaining_2

British companies are increasing their use of foreign logistics operators, the Freight Transport Association has said. In its Quarterly Transport Activity Survey, released last month, the FTA said one in eight companies expect to either make use of foreign hauliers for the first time for domestic transport this year or expand their existing use of these operators. David Green, FTA director-general, said heavier vehicle weights and lower fuel taxes were giving foreign operators a “14 per cent cost advantage over their UK counterparts”.
