Don’t ‘bust a gut’ over 2005 target, says CIPS chair

Purchasers in local government should not “bust a gut” and rush to meet the government’s target for e-procurement, according to the chair of the CIPS information systems committee.

Ken Cole said it was more important to focus on building a strong business case for establishing e-procurement and for council buyers to not get pushed into decisions they may regret.
