Wed, 17 Jul 2013Over 500 new casual jobs are being advertised this week at the revamped Adelaide Oval, the stadium playing host to an Ashes cricket test later this year, as well as Australian Rules Football games from next year.

Roles include chef, cook, barista, bar and function staff.

Alongside the 500 new jobs are around 700 which Australian newspaper Herald Sun reports be filled by workers already employed by the stadium before its A$535m (£324m) revamp.

Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority chief executive officer Andrew Daniels says: “First opportunity for positions available at Adelaide Oval has been given to existing SANFL [South Australia National Football League] and SACA [South Australia Cricket Association ]staff.

“It’s going to be an extremely busy and high-pressure environment – as well as tremendously exciting – so we’re looking for the right people to join us and get to work. We hope we will be inundated with passionate jobseekers eager to be a part of this new chapter in the history of the Adelaide Oval.”
