  • Confidence in employment dips slightly in AprilEmployer confidence dipped slightly in April from a record high level in March, reveals the Recruitment & Employment Confederation's (REC's) JobsOutlook survey, based on responses from 200 UK employers. It shows that 66% of firms are due to increase their use of permanent workers in the next three months, with only 6% predicting a slight decrease, and none foreseeing significant decreases. 23 May 2012

  • UK & IRELAND Appointments: e-Recruiter has SpicerJamie Spicer has been appointed a recruitment consultant within the IT team of multi-sector agency e-Recruiter.
  He was previously an investment banking account manager at IT recruiter Modis, having started his recruitment career in the medical sector.
  • INTERNATIONAL India: Incite People's new CEO to spur Indian expansionDigital recruitment organisation, Incite People, has announced the appointment of Andrew Swift as chief executive. Swift will work closely with founder Oliver Turnbull to develop the group's businesses both in the UK and particularly in India, where the company sees exciting opportunities for growth.
  • UK & IRELAND Appointments: Higgins and Northey to RPITelecoms, media and technology recruiter RP International (RPI) has appointed David Higgins as chairman and David Northey as chief finance officer.
  • Clements to leave SThree, Elden in line for successionGlobal technology recruiter SThree has announced that chief executive Russell Clements will retire from the board next year, with current group chief strategy officer Gary Elden succeeding him. Clements will retire at the conclusion of the firm's next AGM in April 2013, following more than 26 years with the group.
