Trinity Mirror today announced that it has taken control of job board and cars and home sales website Fish4.

The media empire has been a shareholder in the Fish4 business for over 10 years and previously held a 50% joint venture interest alongside Newsquest Media Group. According to a Trinity Mirror statement, Fish4 will sit alongside the brands in its digital classified portfolio including GAAPweb, totallylegal, SecsInTheCity and SmartNewHomes.

Fish4 chief executive Joe Slavin will leave the company at an as-yet undetermined date, a Trinity Mirror spokesman said in response to a Recruiter enquiry. The spokesman said the remaining senior management team will report to Paul Halliwell, managing director, Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment and Property.

Halliwell said in the company’s prepared statement: “We have ambitious plans for the future of the Fish 4 business.”
