Theitjobboard.com has promoted Alex Farrell to the position of managing director. Farrell, who was previously sales director, will be responsible for enhancing the company’s range of job boards, for growing the business and for continuing its expansion into mainland Europe.

Farrell said: “My key responsibility as managing director will be to ensure www.theitjobboard.com retains its reputation as a leading player in the industry, at the same time as continuing its growth in mainland Europe.

“Our core role is clearly to match IT professionals that are job-hunting with organisations requiring IT staff, but we also believe our services should take a holistic approach. For example, in the current climate when the supply-demand equation in the IT sector falls firmly in favour of the employee, we have focused on helping employers to attract and then retain staff, regardless of their age or gender.”

Farrell was a founder member of the company back in 2002.
