Businesses optimistic for future as hundreds of new jobs planned

With the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) saying that 56% of businesses are planning to grow their workforces over the coming months, here are a few companies doing just that.

Growth Vision for North Wales is looking to fill eight key roles as work begins on the 14 projects that make up the North Wales Growth Deal, signed by both the Welsh and UK governments in December. Driven by the North Wales Economic Ambition Board’s Portfolio Management Office – based at Conwy Business Centre, Conwy – new recruits will join the 12-strong unit who will take forward schemes in sectors including agri-food and tourism, energy, land and property, digital, and innovation in high-value manufacturing.

DEXTERS, a London-based chartered surveyor and estate agent, is set to create hundreds of new jobs as it expands across the capital through a new partnership with an investor group led by Oakley Capital. With the new investment, the firm aims to expand its network of 70 London branches to over 100 branches, as well as recruiting an additional 400 staff.

Professional services recruiter FDM Group plans to take on more than 2,000 new IT trainees globally as part of a major new recruitment drive. The company, which specialises in recruiting and equipping graduates, ex-armed forces personnel and women returners with the latest digital skills, announced the plans following a surge in demands for its consultants.

It is estimated that around one third of the new hires will be in the UK, with the remaining being split across FDM’s other major offices in the US and APAC regions.
