Over-35s more likely to be unhappy at work

How many of the candidates in your database are about to hit 35? It’s a question worth asking, as new research suggests this is the age when workers begin to hate their jobs.

The research, by happiness analytics platform provider Happiness Works on behalf of finance, banking, IT and admin staffing specialist Robert Half UK, reveals that 16% of 35- to 54-year-olds admit they are unhappy in their roles, while almost one-fifth (17%) of people over the age of 55 are unhappy at work.

This latter figure is double the number of millennials (under-35s) surveyed who were unhappy at work.
