Eddie drops in to open Red Eagle Recruitment’s new head office

1980s Winter Olympics star Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards swooped down on Folkestone this past week to officially open Red Eagle Recruitment’s new head office on Sandgate Road.

Edwards, who was probably the most famous athlete of the 1988 Calgary Games, was just the person Red Eagle MD Wayne Hodgson was looking for to open the office, due to his ability to inspire.

“Anyone who has seen the film will know what Eddie went through to achieve his dream – no half measures, giving 100%, never giving up and doing his best at all times,” Hodgson said. “We were so pleased to have Eddie for the day – he was brilliant! Eddie epitomises our company ethos, we had to use him for our official opening.”

As well as Red Eagle staff, the office opening was attended by clients, suppliers and a few special guests, including 98-year-old Reg Huntley, the UK’s oldest full-time salesman on the road, who appeared on BBC’s The One Show and national press. Everyone received a signed photo of Eddie, along with a signed copy of his DVD, Eddie the Eagle.
