A former recruitment colleague of one of the candidates set to star in the latest series of The Apprentice has told Recruiter he expects her to be a contender to win the process due to her energy and strong opinions.

This week the BBC unveiled its latest batch of candidates to battle it out for £250k in investment as they seek to impress high profile businessman Sir Alan Sugar.

This latest group of contenders includes professional search agent at IBM, Trishna Thakrar, who previously worked for SThree firm Real Staffing and before that technology recruiter TRG.

Lead recruiter and ex-colleague of Thakrar's at TRG Phil Bateman told Recruiter he spoke with her only this week when she told him she was going to appear on the show.

According to Bateman, Thakrar’s main attributes are her energy, assertiveness, hunger and strong opinions, but added her main weakness is she supports Tottenham Hotspur.

However, he says Thakrar represents great value for money and is sure she will be a contender for the 2016 Apprentice crown.

“She’s funny too so everyone will be kept very entertained. She’s been a tech recruiter, so has experienced many highs and lows. She’ll easily ride life in that boardroom; it’s soft comparatively.”
