FROM JULY'S RECRUITER MAGAZINE

James Webber, founder and managing director at James Webber Recruitment, offers insight into a potential role for Dame Barbara Windsor, who recently left her role as Peggy Mitchell in BBC soap opera EastEnders.

Barbara’s most famous recent role as the matriarchal head of EastEnders’ Mitchell family also showed her capabilities as a landlady not to trifle with.

Adept at pulling a pint or throwing out rowdy patrons with her infamous line “Get outta my pub!”, Barbara would make a great bar manager at any drinking establishment across the country but probably most fittingly in her native East End of London.

Having said that, perhaps Arsenal fan Barbara may like to manage a pub near Arsenal’s home of the Emirates in North London.

Although perhaps Barbara might like to turn her hand to being a club rep on an 18-30 holiday, given her seafaring history. One of her previous roles before joining EastEnders was in the early 1980s as scarecrow Worzel Gummidge’s friend Saucy Nancy, a ship’s figurehead.

And let’s not forget among her array of Carry on film parts was her turn on Carry on Camping, which adds further weight to the argument she could throw her bubbly personality into being a club rep.
