Global recruiter ManpowerGroup saw year-on-year revenue increase 3% in the three months ended 30 June 2016.

This was according to results, published late yesterday, that reveal revenues for Q2 were $5bn (£3.7bn), while net earnings for the three months ended 30 June 2016 were $115.4m, compared to net earnings of $105.7m in the same period last year.

Financial results in the quarter were affected by the stronger US dollar relative to several foreign currencies, compared to the pervious year period. On a constant currency basis, revenues increased 5% and earnings per share increased 22%. Earnings per share in the quarter were adversely affected 2 cents by changes in the foreign currencies compared to the previous year.

Commenting on the results, ManpowerGroup chairman and chief executive Jonas Prising said: "We are pleased with our second quarter results, contributing to a good first half of 2016. We were able to deliver solid results despite a softening and more uncertain global economic growth environment.”
