Male apprentices are earning, on average, 21% more than female apprentices, with females also more likely to lose out on training, according to a ComRes poll.

The poll, commissioned by the charity Young Women’s Trust to mark the launch of its apprenticeship campaign, found women earned on average £4.82 an hour, compared to £5.85 for men.
