Job board Monster.co.uk has been appointed official recruitment partner for the Festival of Code, a ‘hackathon’ for young people.

The event, currently taking place and running until 2 August in 66 centres across the UK, sees thousands of children between the ages of five and 18 take part in building digital hardware and software projects.

As part of Monster’s partnership, it has created a bespoke task which asks young coders to design and make a tech solution that encourages people under 18 to learn to code through peer-to-peer learning for a chance to win a drone.

The festival ends at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham this weekend when up to 2,000 young coders will present what they’ve made.
