Recruitment trade body the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has appointed Stephen Hill as finance director.

Hill has worked as European finance director for international multi-sector recruiter Volt and finance director at Elan IT recruitment handling strategy development, acquisitions, restructuring and process improvement.

He joins APSCo from FD4, which provides part time finance directors to SMEs, where he was a portfolio finance director.

In a statement, APSCo said Hill would replace Matthew Brown, managing director of umbrella company Giant Group, who has “balanced the needs of APSCo with that of his own business”. The statement adds Brown will remain an active member of APSCo’s representative committee.

Explaining the appointment, APSCo chief executive Ann Swain said a 21% increase in membership had made it necessary for the trade body to invest in a permanent appointment.
