Tue, 6 Aug 2013Recruitment group Phaidon International yesterday opened a physical premises in Zurich, transferring eight UK staff from three of its brands to the new office.

The brands launching in Switzerland are executive search offering Carlton Senior Appointments, procurement, supply chain, finance and HR brand DSJ Global, and finance specialist Selby Jennings.

Phaidon’s Swiss entity, Phaidon Capital (Schweiz) GmbH, has been registered since last year, with the company trading remotely ahead of this launch.

Zurich is described by the company as a ‘regional base’, with chief executive officer Adam Buck saying that with Switzerland having become “one of our largest markets… it made sense to open a local office to strengthen our relationships and widen our European network”.

This effort will be led by Greg Beszant, who has been with the firm since 2007, and has been group director for Continental Europe since April. In addition to Beszant and the seven staff, the firm has hired a UK graduate, as well as a Swiss German national who joins the business next month.

The company’s seven brands work with clients across 43 countries. It is headquartered in London and also has offices in New York, Singapore, and as of last month, Hong Kong – from which it tells Recruiter it hopes to break into China.
