Representing nearly two-thirds of the group, advertising and communications business Work Communications saw a 13% slip in fees, with operating profit before exceptional costs down from £182k to £68k.

The other third of the group, search, research and talent management consultancy Armstrong Craven saw an 8% decline in fees, with operating profit adjusted for exceptional costs down from £934k to £266k.
