The Australian government’s new Australian JobSearch mobile app for Android and Apple devices is to connect jobseekers with some 40,000 job vacancies nationally.

Employment participation minister Kate Ellis says the app, available for free via iTunes and Google Play, “is a win for jobseekers and a win for businesses looking for workers - especially in regional Australia”.

The app leverages GPS technology to show jobseekers where there is work in their immediate area.

Earlier this year, the government partnered with job site SEEK to maximise work opportunities for Australians within the resources sector through the public Resources Sector Jobs Board.
