IT recruiter Nicoll Curtin has split its commerce and industry division into separate permanent and contract divisions as it aims for growth in both areas.

The permanent team is led by new hire Alex Hutchings, previously of professional recruiters Huntress and Robert Walters, while Matthew Mangan, who joined in the summer from temporary recruiter Venn Group, heads the contract side.

A spokesperson for the firm tells Recruiter that the new strategy means the firm is aiming to give permanent commerce and industry recruitments more focus, having previously had less involvement in that area, while also continuing to develop the contract arm.

Established in January 2011, the commerce & industry sector should account for 30% of Nicoll Curtin’s UK revenue by the end of this year, according to sales director Graham Hale.
