Managing director hails “incredible year”

Support staff specialist New Directions (Recruitment) has reported another increase in turnover. The Cardiff-based company saw revenue for the year to 31 May rise to £9.18m, compared with £6.45m a year earlier. After-tax profit was £487,336, edging up from £479,757.

The company has 75 salaried staff and is responsible for almost 2,000 supply teachers, locum social workers, pharmacists and support staff who are out on assignment each week.

“It’s been an incredibly successful year,” managing director Jeff Tune commented. “During 2005 and the early part of 2006 we set up our new accountancy and commercial division which has really made its mark in the sector.”
