Food and drinks could serve up 30,000 new jobs in Ireland

A new report from trade body Food and Drink Industry Ireland (FDII) suggests that 30,000 new jobs could be created by 2020 if the industry is sufficiently well supported by the government.

A new report from trade body Food and Drink Industry Ireland (FDII) suggests that 30,000 new jobs could be created by 2020 if the industry is sufficiently well supported by the government.

FDII is targeting an increase in exports from €9bn (£7m) to €12bn in 2020, and says that 230,000 jobs are already linked to the sector, which spends €7.9bn on Irish goods and services annually.
