Bleasdale plans appeal after losing HCL Employment Tribunal case

Fri, 22 Jun 2012
Kate Bleasdale, the founder and former executive vice chairman of Healthcare Locums (HCL), plans to appeal after losing her claims for unfair dismissal and sex discrimination against HCL and some former directors.

Speaking to Recruiter, Bleasdale confirmed that her claims had failed and that her dismissal was held to be non-discriminatory and fair. HCL announced a notice to the City to this effect earlier this afternoon.
As Recruiter went to press, we had been unable to get confirmation of the outcome of the case from the Employment Tribunal Service.

Bleasdale told Recruiter: “I am appealing” and that she expects to lodge an appeal “in the next week or so”.

A spokesperson for HCL tells Recruiter: “Hopefully we can move on.”
