Software firm SAP’s US subsidiary SAP America will purchase cloud-based business network Ariba for a value of around $4.3bn (£2.7bn).
Ariba’s applications include a vendor management system (VMS) for temporary labour. Ariba has around 2,600 employees.
In a press statement, SAP co-chief executives Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe say: “The addition of Ariba will create the business network of the future, deliver immediate value to our customers and provide another solid engine for driving SAP’s growth in the cloud.”
